When I founded Sussex Performance Centre, alongside Tom Austin and Michelle Davidson, I never believed we would of had so much success in a relatively short period of time.
SPC was always the ultimate dream for me as a coach growing up, so to see it go from strength to strength motivates me each and every day to be the best training facility on the south coast of England.
But before all of this, here is a little bit about me.
I graduated from Brunel University in 2011 with a first class degree in Sport and Exercise Science. My passion has always been focused around the life of a professional athlete; how they train, how they eat and how they push the limits of human performance. Alongside this, I attended UK Strength and Conditioning workshops to become a novice strength and conditioning coach, working with a variety of sport teams from athletics, football and basketball.
Wanting to make the most of my time prior to starting a career in coaching, I went travelling around the USA for 6 months. I returned to take up a role as personal trainer at Virgin Active where I gained experienced for the next 5 years. This gave me the opportunity to gain experience working with people from everyday life as well as professional athletes and with educational sport academies, such as Worthing College Academy of Sport.
My passion for coaching remains at the forefront of SPC’s training ethos. I always look to get the best out of each individual I coach, figure out what training style matches their goals and how to produce sustainable results time and time again.
Outside of the fitness industry, I enjoy playing football, mountain biking in the south downs and spending time with friends and family. I enjoy testing my fitness in many different ways and have always believed that there is more to life than just the gym! Trying something new, training for a sport or event has always provided the biggest motivation for me.
Above all else, founding SPC is the best thing I have ever done. From the beginning, we worked as a team to decorate the facility, research and install all the equipment ourselves and take an unused building into what we now call our training ‘home’. I am extremely proud of the team for all the early starts and late finishes it took to get SPC off the ground. Now we pride ourselves on coaching people from all walks of life, whether they are looking to improve their sporting performance, loose some body fat, get stronger or simply get fit. Most importantly, we always look to do it with a smile on our faces.
My passion for coaching remains at the forefront of SPC’s training ethos. I always look to get the best out of each individual I coach, figure out what training style matches their goals and how to produce sustainable results time and time again. With a huge influence from my previous experiences and a continued desire to learn, I remain committed as ever to deliver the best possible service to everyone who enters SPC.
