All businesses and venues that are open are expected to follow Covid-19 secure guidelines, as previously adhered to. In all tiers, gyms can stay open but with different rules surrounding each tier.

See the changes to SPC in all tiers below (indoor group activities and classes should not take place in tier 3).

So how does the Tier system relate to SPC?

Tier 1:

  • organised outdoor sport, physical activity and exercise classes can continue.
  • organised indoor sport, physical activity and exercise classes can continue to take place, if the rule of 6 is followed.
  • There are exceptions for indoor disability sport, sport for educational purposes, and supervised sport and physical activity for under-18s, which can take place with larger groups mixing.

In tier 1, SPC will continue to run personal training and group training using both the indoor and outdoor facility.

Group training will resume under the same protocols as before; SPC members will be placed into smaller bubble groups during their session as they move between exercise stations. Cleaning/sanitising protocols will remain as before.

Tier 2:

  • businesses and venues can continue to operate, in a COVID-Secure manner, other than those which remain closed by law, such as nightclubs.
  • organised outdoor sport, and physical activity and exercise classes can continue.
  • organised indoor sport, physical activity and exercise classes will only be permitted if it is possible for people to avoid mixing with people they do not live with (or share a support bubble with).
  • There are exceptions for indoor disability sport, sport for educational purposes and supervised sport and physical activity for under-18s, which can take place with larger groups mixing.

In tier 2, SPC will continue to run personal training and group training using both the indoor and outdoor facility.

Group training will continue but sessions will be organised to ensure the whole outdoor area is being prioritised to allow for greater space availability inside the SPC facility. Inside use of the SPC facility will be numbers limited

We will also employ a one way system at SPC to avoid mixing with others. Each member will have their own space assigned to them when inside the facility. Cleaning/sanitising protocols will remain as before.

Tier 3:

  • leisure and sports facilities may continue to stay open.
  • organised outdoor sport, and physical activity and exercise classes can continue, however higher-risk contact activity should not take place.
  • organised indoor sport, physical activity and exercise classes cannot take place indoors. There are exceptions for indoor disability sport, sport for educational purposes and supervised sport and physical activity for under-18s.

In tier 3, SPC will continue to run personal training indoors and group training outdoors.

Personal training will use both the indoor and outdoor facility. All group training will move to the outdoor facility only. We will not be able to run group training indoors whilst in Tier 3.

If you have any further questions, please contact the SPC team here.

We cannot wait to see everyone back again!
