What To Expect When You Arrive At SPC?

The last 12 weeks of lockdown has proven to be a strange time for everyone and especially those connected to the health & fitness industry.

The SPC team have been busy speaking to all our SPC community about the changes they can expect going forward. Unless anything changes, we are expecting to reopen the doors of our facility on July 4th 2020.

As the government ease restrictions on what we are able to do with our SPC members, we want to outline what you can expect when you arrive at SPC. Things certainly will not be the same as when we were all last together at SPC, which is why we wanted to let you know we are taking every precaution necessary to keep you safe at all times.

We pride ourselves on being more than a gym. The SPC community is the heartbeat of everything we do and your safety is of our upmost importance.

What can you expect when you arrive to SPC for a session right now?

Outside Facility

Currently all sessions at SPC are being conducted in our outside facility and the surrounding areas we have within the Worthing College campus. Your SPC coach will advise you as to where the session will be undertaken prior to your arrival. As previously stated, inside areas of gyms are due to open on July 4th.

Changing Rooms

In line with the government guidelines, the changing rooms are currently unable to be open to members of the public and remain locked. The toilet facilities remain open and we advise all our members to wash their hands upon arrival to SPC and also when they depart SPC. Hand hygiene remains one of the most important aspects of the fight against Covid-19. Please bring with you only essential items to SPC.

We advise all SPC members to bring with them a large bottle of water that is already pre-filled. The use of the gym is currently prohibited to fill your water up. Speak to your SPC coach should you run out of water and they will be able to help provide more water.

Our cleaning protocol has always been of a high standard to maintain the space and equipment at SPC. We have increased our cleaning protocol to provide all exercise areas with sanitiser for customer use, cleaning products for equipment (pre & post use) and adequate spacing between clients (minimum of 2m social distancing). No equipment is shared between members and is thoroughly cleaned by your coach upon your arrival to SPC. Please consider other members at SPC and clean down equipment after each use with the cleaning products provided (in relation to our group training programmes).

Group Training

Our group training members are currently using a rota based system by which they are experiencing the outside facility at SPC in limited numbers. We have adopted this phased approach to ensure all members are feeling confident, safe and assured that SPC are doing everything to provide them with a safe environment to train in. We plan to gradually phase all members back to larger group sizes when we are allowed to do so whilst adhering to the government guidelines. We plan to run our group training sessions outside at first before slowly incorporating the inside areas of SPC in July (with limited numbers). This will most likely involve dividing the group in two and having them experience both areas during a session. The majority of our group training programmes will be run by two coaches during each session.

Please maintain social distancing measures at all times

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to speak to a member of the SPC management team. We ask all our members to be respectful of one another during this time and adhere to the guidelines above. Please note this is an ever changing situation which SPC will monitor and update our members accordingly.
